How to edit route names

Written by Rasmus Hallgren

After routing has been completed, routes are assigned default names based on the routing template or batch. You can rename one or more routes directly from the batch detail page to make them easier to identify - for example, to reflect a geographic area, a driver, or a delivery group.

Before you start

Route names can only be edited from within a batch that has the Unhandled status. If a batch has already been approved, you will need to withdraw it before you can edit route names.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to Planning and navigate to the batch you want to update.

  2. Click on the batch to open it. This opens the batch detail page, which includes a Route & orders overview section at the bottom of the screen.

  3. In the routes table, select the routes you want to rename using the checkboxes on the left. You can select individual routes or use the checkbox in the header row to select all routes at once.

  4. Click the Actions dropdown in the top-right corner of the routes table and select Edit route names. The Route column switches to edit mode — each selected route's name becomes an editable text field.

  5. Click into a route name field and type the new name. You can edit multiple route names before saving. To revert a single field to its original name, click the reset icon next to the text field.

  6. Click Save to apply your changes, or Cancel to discard them.

The updated route names take effect immediately and are reflected throughout the platform.
