How to create a vehicle

Written by Rasmus Hallgren

This guide walks you through registering a new vehicle in Gordon Cloud. For a full reference of every field and what it means, see Vehicle data points.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Navigate to Vehicles in the Fleet module and click Create vehicle in the top-right corner.

  2. Select the Account the vehicle belongs to. You can search for an account by typing in the dropdown.

  3. Fill in the remaining required fields: Registration number, Type, Make, Model, and Fuel type. Optionally, add details such as model year, Euro class, cargo volume, payload capacity, and depot.

  4. Under Equipment & features, select any equipment the vehicle carries (e.g. tail lift, freezer, hand truck), along with temperature capabilities, refrigeration unit, and branded status.

  5. Under Cost, enter the vehicle's cost parameters — cost per hour, cost per km, fixed monthly cost, monthly operating hours, and currency. These values are used to calculate the cost of each route the vehicle completes.

  6. Under Images, optionally upload one or more photos by clicking the upload area or dragging and dropping a file. Accepted formats are PNG, JPG, and GIF (max 35 MB per image).

  7. Click Create to save the vehicle.

The new vehicle now appears in the Vehicles list and is available for assignment to routes.

Editing a vehicle

You can update a vehicle's details at any time using the same form. There are two ways to open the edit mode:

  • On the vehicle detail page, click the Edit vehicle button in the top-right corner.

  • In the Vehicles list, click the actions menu (⋮) on the vehicle's row.

Make your changes and click Update to save.
